NFPA 200, Standard for Hanging and Bracing of Fire Suppression Systems, is a proposed new standard on track for publication in the Annual 2025 cycle producing a 2026 edition. This document will cover the support of systems for gravity forces and earthquake forces, as applicable. The systems included in NFPA 200 are sprinkler systems, water-spray fixed systems, gaseous systems, water mist systems, hybrid systems, and foam systems. Also included are fire pumps, water tanks, and private fire service mains. This session will review the proposed document including general information that applies across all systems and provide insights for participating in the standard development process.
Upon completion of this seminar, attendees will be able to:
- Discuss the scope of NFPA 200.
- Apply the hanging and support rules for fire sprinkler systems.
- Explain when to use seismic protection for fire suppression systems.
