After earning his Mechanical Engineering degree from Oklahoma State University, Ian Pickens began his professional career as a fire sprinkler designer and project manager at Extreme Fire Protection. Over the past three years, he has developed expertise in designing fire sprinkler systems, adhering to NFPA standards, FM Global datasheets, and ICC codes. Pickens' experience spans a diverse range of projects, including retrofits, heavy timber structures, residential, commercial, industrial, and in-rack sprinkler systems. He holds a NICET Level II certification in Water-Based Systems Layout and has successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam. Pickens is currently working towards obtaining his Professional Engineering license in fire protection.
