Description
The vast majority of AFSA contractor members are small businesses, yet we rarely hear their success stories or small wins in the daily grind. Does the large company/small company dichotomy lead to gaps in employee depth or experience? This course will cover stories of a few entrepreneurs and well-known professionals in our industry that got their hands dirty to lead their company's successful completion of a project. Recorded interviews included. Course will include open discussion on topics covered and a focus on harnessing entrepreneurial spirit and how that may lead to bigger profits and efficiency.
Upon completion of this seminar, attendees will be able to:
- Identify and compare key structural differences between small businesses and large corporations, and determine whether those differences lead to varying employee skills/experience.
- Analyze the pros and cons of each. Discuss the psychology of large and small company employees and how that relates to successful hiring practices and retention.
- Complete brief discussion activities that highlight an opportunity to "get their hands dirty" by getting involved, even if it's outside the job description.
