William Koffel, P.E., FSFPE, is a Clinical Associate Professor and the Director of the Undergraduate FPE Online Program at the University of Maryland. He continues to provide consulting services as the Sr. Director of Special Projects at Koffel Associates, Inc. Graduating with a B.S. in FPE from the University of Maryland he has over 46 years of experience as a code official, consultant, and design engineer. He has served on over 35 NFPA Technical Committees, is the Past Chair of the TC responsible for NFPA 25 and is currently the Chair of the Correlating Committee on Automatic Sprinkler Systems.
