Description

A technology employed by various Industrial applications for over 40 years, Vapor Corrosion Inhibitors (VCIs) are a newly adopted technology for the fire sprinkler industry and an alternative to nitrogen generators for corrosion mitigation. This presentation provides a deep dive into the science behind Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor technology, its efficacy & safety testing protocols, and how the UL-listed Vapor Pipe Shield delivery method allows for their use in dry and preaction fire sprinkler systems.

Upon completion of this seminar, attendees will be able to:

  • Explain the science behind Vapor Corrosion Inhibitors and how they work.
  • Compare Vapor Corrosion Inhibitors to other approved or listed gasses per NFPA code, and describe when to employ these different technologies in a variety of fire sprinkler applications.
  • Calculate sizing requirements for Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor delivery methods.
