This presentation will fundamentally explain arc flash and arc flash potential. We will explore the risk while understanding the reasons an occurrence may happen within the fire and/or jockey pump controller. A simple, UL-listed solution will be reviewed to completely remove this risk of arc flash potential without the need for PPE. Finally, we will define what this UL-listed solution is, the types available, its sizing, and its benefits.

Upon completion of this seminar, attendees will be able to:

• Describe arc flash and arc flash potential and how to eliminate this hazard.
• Calculate the size of either a main fusible switch or OPD disconnecting means and describe the advantages of both.
• Define the four requirements that a UL listed OPD main disconnecting means must have.
