Description

Foam-water fire suppression systems have typically been grouped in the "special hazards" category for years. Truth is, they are not so "special" anymore. The popularity of foam-water systems has increased significantly over the last several years due to technological advancements in robotics for high-piled storage, parking garages, and battery-related occupancies. Foam is not just for ignitable liquids anymore. The seminar will focus on the major design features and requirements for foam systems and the basics of how to perform hydraulic calculations for these types of systems.

Upon completion of this seminar, attendees will be able to:

  • Identify the types of foam systems and foam concentrates available today and the advantages for each.
  • Explain the process for layout of a foam-water system and the impact of the design criteria used.
  • Establish and calculate basic foam-water systems and analyze the components or features that influence the outcome.
